He already knows I pm'd him about this "user" last week (and informed jagfest at the time). I guess he just needs to find the time to do it.

Account deleted.

Anymore? :D

I'm always unsure what we do about ones like this...

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35577

I was just about to delete it. I mean hes only joined just to spam his upcoming game, if he contributed to the forum for a while and then showed the game its different.

I've seen some iOS spam posts in the past which i've deleted as they post once and never come again.

To me we should delete that thread as hes only here to promote his game, shame as it looks decent but if hes allowed to do it then there would be countless other 1 or 2 post people posting new games ?

Well theres 100's if you look here...

memberlist.php?mode=&sk=c&sd=d#memberlist

Tons of 0 posters who just spam a link and leave it there so search engines will pick up on it. Ideally all these spammers need to go

I wasn't unsure.

Received a spam report, had a look at the thread, its an instadelete.

It wasn't "here's a really cool game that might fit the audience here". It was "here's a game where you have to spend money to upgrade your weapons, and its all about upgrading the weapons. GIVE ME YOUR MONEY".

So its gone and my conscience is clear. If he wants to use RG to promote his business, he can contact Daz or the sales team.

Some aren't as obvious though if money isn't involved. I tend to wait and see if they post elsewhere in case they are a genuine new member but usually they aren't so then delete the post if Ant hasn't beaten me to it

I think there's about half a dozen or so of us with spam edit/delete powers but no admin privileges to block user accounts. Maybe just over that. Then there's a couple of staff with proper admin rights (like Darran).

I try not to delete or edit anything that might prove interesting to the forum, but some spammers take the mick. Selling stuff usually gets an edit so members can PM and risk it if they want, posting free games is generally left alone, posting paid for games will depend if there are any complaints or if its even vaguely relevant. Irrelevant spammers get binned instantly (like Ada and her lingerie stuff).

Most of us are grown ups, so I don't like to be unnecessarily censorial.

Its annoying how these people dont have common sense though. We all know how to act on forums (Granted people may not agree with that ;) , but seriously you dont just join a forum to spam a new game or try to sell something on ebay, just common sense.

Yet you get developers who must be intelligent as theyre created some great apps, just appearing, spamming their product and going.

Its great we have that ebay rule about not being able to sell until a certain number of posts though. Even worse are newbies who used to offer items and wanted you to pay by paypal as a 'gift' (yet still some people would do that). Crazy
