Is there a reason Wipeout 3 Special Edition doesn't get mentioned in the Wipeout article?

Its a significant release, as it adds several tracks from the previous games so for the first time we have analogue control on those alongside the revised weapons and handling model. There's also a 4 player split screen (a double link up, so two tellies with 2 player split screen each) and some general tweaks and fixes from the original Wipeout 3.

If you're going to play Wipeout 3, then Special Edition is the one to go for as it offers so much more.

A good month & a half later I've finally got round to reading some of this.

The Spectrum article is excellent, really really well written. I thought it captured the story and the spirit of what the Speccy means to people very well, a fitting article to mark a significant date.

I also enjoyed the Salamander Software article, as most of the main players have been covered, it's interesting to hear about the more obscure companies and those that made software for the less popular machines.

The rest was the usual mix of well written articles on games I loved (Cybernoid) articles I enjoyed about games that I don't like (Wipeout, Mario RPG) and things of very little interest to me (X-Wing & Fighting Fantasy).

103 distracted me from finishing this, but now it's done.

As it seems to this old grump (gerroffmylawnyourascals!) the old stuff is good stuff, whilst the new stuff is not as much. Which I think RG has really said itself, if you can't talk to a single person or about a single aspect you wont get as good a story.

Yes, of course I still recommend the magazine to anyone asking. Even when it is bad it's good.
