This is brilliant news - I only saw the trailer for the Japanese release a few weeks ago. Love Progear, which this is similar to. This is probably the best Cave related news I could get, next to a localised Ketsui...

Considering no Cave games have so far this generation, maybe you could take a hint?

Never say never! For now at least I'll have to be content with the Cave releases on Saturn and iOS.

I got the Jap version on launch - was well excited, then played it like twice :( I need to get into it but I just haven't had chance yet even though I think it's my second fave cave game after ESPGALUDA II

In the bigger scheme of things Cave haven't ruled out some of their shooters coming out on the PS3 indeed I remember seeing some tweets from Risingstar asking Cave if was a possibility. I suspect that how well PAL DDP and Akai sell might have some influence on this - reaIistically though the chances of any of these games being ported to the PS3 as not at all or in quite a while unfortunately.

I think Akai is up there when it comes to hori's on the 360, pipped by Deathsmiles in my opinion but I suspect most people will prefer Akai. I quite like the game because is completely insane but doesn't focus on human characters or scanily clad school girls - it's quite refreshing for Cave to release a proper shooter! If nothing alse an English translation will help me understand the bonkers scoring system!!

I think they'd be daft to lock it, plenty of people I know from the US are importing DDP

Seriously, you need to stop this. You're getting my hopes up more than Kerry Katona finding icing sugar in a bag marked 'Charlie'.

Great news, I've been following the latest shmup stuff from the distance seeing how they never support the PS3 and more with the goal of Saturn'ing them in the future.
