megadrive cartridge probs

Postby luvhistorics on Thu Jul 05, 2012 6:35 am

G'day guys, i was wandering if anyone has had this problem before.

I got a sega megadrive with some in-built games and recently found a cartridge of Golden Axe II. I plugged it in and the game seems to work fine but... the direction pad won't work. All the other buttons do, but not the direction button. The in-built games on the console all work fine, no trouble, but the only cartridge game I have just has that one strange problem. I even sourced 2 new controllers and it still happens.

Anyone heard of it before?

Thanks for reading.

With some built in games? Is it one of those new ones then? I believe some of them did have compatibility issues.

yeah, the ones you buy from big W or K-mart.
with all the rain we been having I thought it be a good cheap alternative to keep the kids amused, not realizing that all the fond memories I have of playing sega would come flooding back, they can't get me off it! :)

These Mega Drives with built in games are cheap clones that use emulation rather real hardware so you will find that the sound is terrible on a lot of games, some with have graphical glitching and others just won't work.

You could have probably bought a real Mega Drive with a load of games for the same price off eBay.
