Famous people with retro system collections?

Postby AmigaJay on Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:51 pm

Maybe a page with a celebrity that owns and still plays old systems or collects for a particular system.
Just a few paragraphs of their childhood and what they play now... and a cheesy photo of them holding their joystick wouldn't go a miss.
Obviously your not gonna get A list celebs no offence!, but you might get that bloke off the go compare advert or the fat one out of the Tango adverts in the 90s...

Doesn't Jonathan Ross have quite a collection - I remember him talking about his favourite Nintendo games and having a gaming room that was full of stuff! Can't vouch for how much of it was Retro though...

Excellent idea AmigaJay..
I'm sure the boys at the mag could dig up an actor or two who starred in some of the Videogame related movies of the past like Peole who starred in either of the Tron films?? some of the B-Grade actors in SreetFighter or Mortal Kombat(s)?? The Wizard? Double Dragon?
These sorts of people could even give some insight into what they had to do to "Get into the characters" of the roles they'd be playing, surely that would have caused them to play the games that the movies were about at least...
From Game&Watch to PS2 and Arcade in between, its been so much fun every single step of the way.

He's got a Nomad and one of those Dreamcasts that are shaped like Sonic's head. And his favourite game ever is Splatterhouse on the PC-Engine (this is according to an interview he gave to Max and OB from Hollyoaks at some awards ceremony thing).

I can't remember what program I saw it on but Jonathan Ross' game room is quite a sight.

Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda. That's A-list for you! :)

[edit] found JR's game room (well, he says it's his office!). Check out that ceiling.

Jonathon Ross did an interview once where he said him and his wife bought Super ghouls and ghosts on release day and they both spent the entire weekend taking turns until they completed it. Tehy stayed in their pyjamas the full weekend ordering pizza and eating ice cream and played it nonstop.
