Please PM me if you notice any mistakes/omissions, or have updated information about a particular event.

If you are aware of an event that you think should be included in the calendar, please post details in the thread and either myself or a mod will add it if it's suitable! Hint: if you're able to supply the information in the Requested Format this may drastically increase the haste in which it is added to the front page! If it's your /own/ event that you want us to list in the calendar, then you should definitely submit the details in line with this polite request!

N.B. This is only intended to be a summary of retro gaming shows, or events with retro areas. It is not an exhaustive list of general gaming/computing events!

Nice work Dave... Looks like the next 12 months is as good as sorted already! :)

Two things - the non-retro event is barely visible (maybe that's intentional! ;)) and it may be an idea to reduce the font size or amount of info about the past ones (or even just remove them) so there is no confusion - I don;t want people thinking there is gonan be another byte back for example!

Another useful thing to add might be ticket prices and (if known) number of tickets remaining.

Cheers for the feedback, Mat :D

LOL! Though I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time before more do's and meetups are announced. For example RCM are bound to want to slot in there somewhere and who knows, perhaps one of these days one of the Southern members will find the inspiration to stage something in or around London (instead of just moaning about there being naffink' darn saaaarf).

Couldn't find any 'pale' font colours that worked against the grey background, so for now I've just removed the differentiation altogether.

Have decreased the font size - does that look ok?

Well perhaps if Shaun takes you up on your offer of domain name and web design skills there /will/ be another Byte Back?! ;)

Another useful thing to add might be ticket prices and (if known) number of tickets remaining.

Excellent point - I'll get onto that in a bit, but should probably do some proper work now ... ;)

Proper... work? Does... not... compute!

Retrovision 2009 detaIls for previous events is here:
http://www.remix64.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5623

Even though I want to get RV out of the way before I starst or think about planning anything else, I have an idea for running a 150-people-ish Sized event in the Chelmsford area (where I live) in Essex around September/October 2010 and if it works perhaps another around April 2011. These events will have nothing to do with RV whatsoever, but would be a new event based on this idea.

It would also depend if enough people would be interested in coming to an event in Essex to make it worthwhile. At the moment only about 20 tickets for RV2010 have been sold (thanks to those who have bought one!), with about another 10 people saying they will be buying tickets in the near future, but I hope Mat is right and RV sells lots more tickets nearer the time. That would inspire me more to run the Essex events.

I would also remove the size of events (Small, Medium, Large) to just estimated amount of people attending, and perhaps add an estimated amount of systems attending. I think events of all sizes are important as each other, and saying an event is small may put some people off attending.

I think you have to hire the Arcade Barn yourself and get a group together to go down there - no formal events are planned as far as I know.

Updates to the Calendar:
- Arcade Barn Open day added
- Jagfest moved to previous events
- Prices added (where known)
- Assigned (working) title of "Retro Rewind" to Sheffield event in April 2010
- Entry added for tentative event in Essex, April 2011(!)

Might it be better to simply link to this thread instead? As if you create a secondary copy of the info it could become outdated very quickly ...

Just found another event mentioned on RCM forums:

Vintage Computer Festival
http://www.vcf-gb.org/index.htm

19th and 20th June 2010.

You might also want to move the dates for Video Games Live up a bit. They are taking place this year (2009) and they are positioned in the 2010 dates section.

Now, an event in chelmsford I'd be able to get to as it's only 20 minutes from me :D
