there will be no lucky dip this year!
That's a shame... I'd picked up loads of cheap tat from the Game clearout for you as well!
i feel i need to add an explination
i am still available to do MKLD at other, smaller events, and am still collecting stuff for as and when required, but its extremely difficult to collect enough items to justify a lucky dip at an event where litteraly thousands of people are attending, i started doing the dip at much smaller events, the first being sirclives, out of a small box and raised around £30! at R3PLAY in 2010 i started collecting in september and thought i had waaay more than i needed....and sold out before 5pm on the first day! the only reason i ran on sunday is becouse i dragged my bin around the event before it opened and leant on the generosity of the stall holders (quite heavily)
so last year i started collecting for the dip in MARCH it took NINE months of solid collecting, appealing on the internet, telephone calls, emails and even personaly aproaching senior members of corprate company's and litteraly begging for gear to get the amount of stuff i needed to justify holding a raffle, tombola and lucky dip, those who are close to me know just how obbsessive and possesive i get about the whole thing, it got to the point where bit by bit my entire retro collection (as well as a large amount of my sanity) has gone in the dip bin over the years, just becouse i was afraid of not having enough!
so no more lucky dip at big events! if the play boys want a raffle and/ or tombola,or anything else, not a problem, but i just can't physicaly put the time in to beg over 500 dip items as well as over 1,000 tombola items (yes, really!) AND secure kick ass prises for a raffle.sorry guys, and thanks for helping me make last years total of over two and a half thousand pounds! it could not have been done without your support!
forgive the long post guys
