Countdown clock you say? There is one on the website - http://www.playexpo.net

To be fair to Ticketline, I don't think there are many companies where you can challenge their fees and they effectively agree to reduce their margin by more than 50% virtually immediately. It is true what they say about service recovery sometimes being more important than if you had got it right first time.

I must say, compared to the price of some events of a similar nature, £22 for a weekend ticket is very good. Well done for keeping the price affordable! :)

I may be missing it somewhere totally obvious, but what's the age range for a child ticket?

Also, clicking on "Next" after trying to buy the tickets, the website appears to stop working :-/

Only been trying for a few minutes, but tried it on a couple of different browsers.

Mike - any chance you could take a screenshot of the problem, and email it to me at dave AT replayevents.com, together with a brief description of the problem, including your browser versions and OS, as well as the time it occurred?

I was actually having this problem yesterday (after selecting a ticket quantity and hitting next) I'd get a white screen, but when SirClive tested it it was fine. It's also ok for me now.

Ta.

If anyone else is interested, I managed to get it working. Although it failed on Firefox, IE and Chrome on my Windows 7 64bit installation, it worked fine in Chromium and Ubuntu.

It failed for me a few times last night before it finally worked. It didn't actually fail, it just never responded after selecting the number of tickets (the page where it shows the £0.00 charge for E-tickets page just didn't load for several minutes). I just tried again after 10 mins, and the third time it worked (and quickly too, no delays). I'm using Firefox on Windows 7. I didn't change anything, just retrying 10 mins later. I think their site just gets busy at certain times.

We're told the issue's been fixed now - if anybody else encounters problems when ordering tickets, please can you drop me a mail (dave AT replayevents.com) and provide some basic info if poss (e.g. description of problem, browser/os and exact time).

Ta! :)

In all fairness the event is only running 8 hours on Saturday and 8 hours on Sunday (if vendors do not start packing up early on Sunday). I am guessing that evening gaming session will be at least another £5 and more booking fees.

I just helped run a 4 day gaming event which was £15 for four days running from 12 to 1AM on Friday and Saturday and 12 to 12 on Sunday - and it had no £2 booking fees or any other charges. We just confirmed another one for next year which is £10 for 3 days which will again run to 1AM on Friday and Saturday.

Just my opinion, but to me this makes £44 for two people for a 16 hour event seem a tad expensive.

The difference is .

Scale.
Replay is a massive scale.
Could you get 2000+ at yours? Have you advertised yours all over the place?
Does yours have loads of arcade machines and loads of pinball machines?

I was in HMV today and noticed their 'Gamerbase' thing.

It was quite busy in there with people playing PS3s and XBoxes. I noticed the prices were:

3 quid per hour, or 4 hours for a tenner.

16 hours at Play.Expo would work out at 40-50 quid each at those rates, and that's to play just about any machine from the past 30 years you could care to name!
