Oh indeed, I have already applied for about 12 jobs and I shall continue to do just that for jobs I am fully qualified for.
In a weeks time, when I know what I want to do I will start applying for those jobs along side the generic ones

Volunteer, not only will it give you something to do it also gives you something to fill in the blanks on your CV.

During my periods of unemployment (which amounted to about a year in total) I volunteered in Oxfam and then at a local community newspaper. It gave me skills in shop work and face-to-face customer service at Oxfam and for the newspaper I picked up a ton of skills from new software to interviewing people which was great. I also got to cover local events, interview a footballer for Newcastle United and I got to meet a lot of new and local people which was nice.

Importantly it shows that you are willing to work and not sit on your arse and also gives you more to talk about/reference in interviews. When I had the interview for the job that I'm in now I used experiences from both volunteer positions which must have impressed them as I got the job.

As joefish said, don't get to worked up about rejections. Just acknowledge them and move on as something will come along eventually. I had a few but I just read them, stuck them in the shredder and moved onto the next job.

This is the problem in general, honest people rarely get what they deserve. I have worked full time ever since I have left school, now that I need a bit of help the government are currently making me jump through hoops to get it. My mother has worked since she left school, my Auntie hasnt worked a stroke - she gets a higher pension than my mother. How is this fair?

Accepted a job today.
It is crap and minimum wage but we need the money..
Will stick it out for a while til something better comes up but have made it clear to them I am not used to being a grunt and will be seeking advancement through the ranks at the earliest opportunity
