Out of curiosity , why the name changed?, the Replay brand was more in tune with this type of organised event, just wondered why you changed it, like the new logo too..very nice.

I was taking a guess that it was either going to become more of a 'general' gaming expo rather than retro (but Arcadian said there's going to be more pinball and much more retro, so that's probably out) or my other guess was to avoid confusion between the event itself and the company called Replay.

Just guesses, mind you.

Erm, and there is not a massive major online retailer called Play, is there?

There is too much change for my liking. 3 name changes over 3 events (R3play, Replay, Play) and now a logo change just as people were starting to get used to the old logo and the old name. Branding is an important thing for recognition and changing things so frequently is generally not a good thing. I also preferred the old logo more, but I guess it is just personal preference.

I'll take that as A complement , as I was the original R3play designer of the logo ;)

Yes there is... they've been going for quite some time. Quite popular I believe.

I quite agree on the importance of branding, that is why we have changed the name to some stronger and more relevant to our audience. Whilst this forum may only be (or primarily) interested in the 're' a good percentage of our customers just come to 'play' and don't care if it is old, new or somewhere inbetween.

Too right! I remember at Replay last time I had a really crap night out with a couple of losers I bumped into in a deserted bar – don’t want that to happen again!
