7th and 8th April 2012

Postby SimonH on Thu Jan 19, 2012 9:41 am

The Retro Computer Museum and Snibston Discovery centre once again join forces to bring you another weekend of retro gaming goodness on the 7th and 8th April 2012.

We had a huge amount of positive feedback about the venue and the event from our November 2011 weekender. Being based at the discovery centre means there is plenty of alternative things to do, so its a perfect day out for the family.

We will have over 60 systems ready for you to play on!.

If you are going to attend and want to see a specific system - then give us a shout and we will do our best to ensure it is included.

See https://www.facebook.com/events/279711658749433/ or http://www.retrocomputermuseum.co.uk/ for details.

Heres the blurb....
Throwback club night at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes will play host to the first ever Retro Game Base event, in association with Hand Baked Arcade! The theme is 90's and we will have a selection of classic games from what was the most exciting decade for consoles, including....
8 player Bomberman on the Sega Saturn!
4 player Mario Kart & Goldeneye on N64
Megadrive Sonic, Streets Of Rage 2 & other classics
Street Fighter 2 Turbo & Mario Kart on the Snes
Mini arcade with classics such as Smash T.V.
4 player arcade board with classic 4 player arcade games like Turtles, Simpsons, XMen and NBA Jam!!

Well, a group of us now meet up every couple of weeks, but we don't know if there's enough interest in Scotland to put on a larger event.

You're welcome to pop over to our forum at www.edinburghretropc.co.uk though and say hello, there's also info on there about when we're having our next meeting, which everyone is welcome to attend.

EGL 5 (European Gaming League)
Blackpool, 7-8 April 2012
Homepage: http://www.egl.tv

This event is taking place at the Norbreck Castle - home of the first two Replay Expos!

We'll be there with a big display in the centre of the hall, running our popular Multiplayer Retro Lounges, Replay LAN (old-school Halo!) and maybe even an arcade cab or two!!

(see Rich, it's not "Game Over" for Blackpool in terms of video gaming events, after all ... ! ;) ).
