A trip to The Loft

Postby RichL on Mon Apr 16, 2012 5:57 pm

Covered in dust, but I found some of my old mags, thought I'd share with you what I found. How many of you had these issues - or still own them?

EDIT: Sorry for any pop-ups, I did put it down as family safe but who knows...

Whereas I still do have that GamesTM!
Also had that Arcade, not any more though - like so many of the games mags I had bought between '93 and '05 they ended up water-damaged from being stored in a leaky shed.

I spent this morning in the loft sorting through all my magazines! Spooky. :P

I've got the first issue of Games tm (rest have been binned), Arcade & Edge & I'm in the process of getting rid of all my issues of Edge. I'm ripping out all the Time Extend & The Making of features though. I've run out of space & came to the conclusion that I'm never going to re-read them all, so they have to go.

No idea, too lazy to check, I had a huge pile of non-retro mags, so they went in the recycling bin. I'd only kept them as I thought I'd sell them on, but never got round to it.

I did look, found several, all starting at a £1 so nothing to be had there.

some nice cover art there on the DC mag :D

I've only been a sporadic mag buyer over the years (thanks to WH Smiths generous free public reading scheme).

Although it's not so easy if a mag's wrapped in cellophane!

I absolutely loved DC-UK. Was quite sad when it went kaput.

I found several Zzaps too but we've seen all the covers. There's loads more, going to have a proper sort at the weekend. I am hoping to find my The Ones and Amiga Powers.

Sure issue 1 of Gamesmaster is up there too.

There will be loads more DC mags and CUBE - remember that?

it was my preferred DC magazine back in the day, always made me feel excitied about upcoming DC releases more than the other DC mag(s).

Yep, bought every issue of Cube & quite enjoyed it from what I remember. Was it part of TGN?

And when they gave that boot disc away as a cover mount? Turned into the best magazine ever! :D Did the first/launch issue of the Official DC Magazine come in a silver foil packaging? Got memories of being very excited when I bought that.

^ That the one that came with the free video and had the cover of the girl kissing the controller?
If it was, I honestly can't remember what kind of wrapper it all came in.
