Yeah, saw several in a Toys R Us bargain bin about 12 years ago!!

sounds barmy, but if I was a kid bored and being dragged around a supermarket, then I suppose it might have amused me. (though when I worked in a supermarket I have to say I didn't find scanning barcodes too much fun...)

I still have one, somewhere in the garage at the bottom of a box - not sure it still works!
Not sure why I bothered really, they are really crap.

I picked one up in a charity shop last year, I think Ashens review sums it up well. It did not work back in the day and does not work now.....

I had one of these as a kid but they'd been re-branded (Scannerz?).

They functioned pretty well and certainly kept me amused for every supermarket trip. I do remember the back of the pack came with a healing code that revived your monsters, I eventually lost the packaging and as such couldn't revive the little critters...

The best were the old Digimon battlers though. The traditional wee ones

I had a barcode battler, was really into it for a while, I thought it was quite fun. Most items were usually crap but I remember a tin of sausages made a brilliant hero. There is a sentence I didnt think I would ever write.

I never had one but always wanted one for some reason as a kid, it sounded great as an idea although I never knew anyone that owned one

Never got what they were about really!

But I remember there was somewhat of a craze for them at one point...
