Indeed, I just hate selling myself short.
Still, will keep an ear to the ground and see if anything better arises...

crusto wrote:Brilliant news tachi, im chuffed for you and good luck. Ive just wasted 5 months or so trying to get a job at JLR. First of all I had to complete a online assessment, then I have been to 2 separate interviews, within which I have taken literacy and numeracy exams, a practical exam and taken a drug test. All for the 'prize' of a monthly rolling contract. I was informed that I had been succesful and even guaranteed a place with them over the phone on 3 separate occasions. Only to eventually be told that in fact there are no longer any positions available after all. But if I am still interested, reply to their email within 24hrs or be taken off the list altogether. Nice, real nice.

How bloody helpful... Surely there is some sort of regulation against these practices?
Anyways, I thought they were hiring something like 1000 new staff as of last month?
Is there little else of worth where you are? I know (from your profile) that you've been out of work for a while but do you think thatmihht hold you back?
I had 4 months off on stress 3 years ago when my Nephew died and always get questioned about that...
Either way. I sincerely hope things change for you (and all the other guys n gals on here) soon as frankly things are bloody stupid right now.
Oh and ShiftyTigger, give us the lowdown on your situ mate and I think this thread could be our Unemployment thread lol
