Fur Fighters Dreamcast

Postby tokyochojin on Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:33 am

Hi guys,

My new blogsite (http://dinosaurgamers.blogspot.jp/ today's feature is on NES shooter Probotector) will be producing a feature on the Sega Dreamcast cult classic, Fur Fighters and conducting an interview with ex Bizzare Creations members on the project. Just wondering if there are any questions you guys would like to see asked about the game or series in general.

Regards,

TC

Brilliant game, really enjoyed it. :)

Questions, I'd like to ask if there were ever any plans for a sequel, and if so, what kind of ideas did they have in place? Where there ever any plans for online multiplayer, given the Dreamcast's online capabilities? And also, were any of the characters based on real people?

And would they have preferred it to have kept it's original title of Furballs instead of having to change it to Fur Fighters during development? (think it might have been changed because it looked too much like the character Furrball from Tiny Toons?)

Why did they go for cel shading for the ps2 version, but not the original? (I love cel shading)

I'd imagine they wanted to increase sales by jumping on the cell shading bandwagon, whilst simultaneously trying to cover up the fact that they'd had to downgrade all of the textures from the Dreamcast version.

Yeah I know, my username does indeed suck. When I made this profile I never intended it to be my primary username, unfortunately it just ended up that way, and now I'm stuck with it unless I start over

what was the Dreamcast like to develop for?

How did it differ from the sequels development on the ps2?

Wasn't there some kind of issue with a 3rd party DC magazine giving away a playable demo disc and ODCM getting really shirty about it?

So the game came out today on iTunes and you can see an exclusive interview on the original Dreamcast version on my blog at http://dinosaurgamers.blogspot.jp/

Awesome, awesome game. The like of which we rarely see today on consoles!
