My Kid Ikarus cards arrived today. Got a nice small stack of cards now.

Also, if you register Mario Tennis Open on NOE before the 28th May, you get double Stars.

If it had a slightly better campaign and a proper free flight mode it would be my favourite game on the system. As it is I really like it but feel it could have been better if held back from launch and polished up a bit. Here's hoping for a sequel with the depth and scope of something like Kid Icarus Uprising.....

Probably getting this in the next week or two. Need to get Akai Katana on the 360 as well....

Can't see it being better than the masterpiece that is Mario Tennis 64 though - that game has perfect gameplay after all!

So does anyone else have Ace Combat? I picked it up because of the price tag but after playing for a few hours I'm totally hooked! The arcade style gameplay is really addictive and the 3D effect is just stunning! It's well worth picking up if you find it for the £15 mark.

He's wrong :P

Perhaps by Ace Combat standards it's the bastard child, maybe it's totally different to other prior titles (don't know as I've never played them!) but judged on it's own merits, imo it's thoroughly enjoyable :)

I mentioned it a fair while ago, Game were selling it at the time for £15.98, so I picked it up not expecting anything great, but I loved it, but is is a bit short, and no multi player is a bit of missed opportunity, but overall I thought the game was a very worthy addition to the series.

New pictures of the Castlevania 3DS game (scans from the latest Nintendo mag)
http://gamingunwrapped.com/first-scans- ... e-for-3ds/

It'll bridge the gap between LoS1&2, you get to play as Christopher and Simon Belmont. The structure of the game sounds like previous metroidvania titles - it focuses on exploration but the combat mechanics have been ramped up quite a bit as well.

Not sure what to make of the visuals. It looks good and it definetly captures the look of the first LoS perfectly but I'm dissapointed they went the Dracula X remake route of using 3D polygon models in a 2D game, I much prefer sprites personally.

Still, as I really enjoyed LoS I'll be looking forward to picking this up later this year.

Has anyone played PES 2012 on 3DS? Is it better and smoother than the lazy 2011 version?

Here's a few points I made about the game on the NGamer Forums back when it released (6/12/11):

- There's no difference in the way PES 2012 plays to PES 2011. No suprise there. That said, the presentation in 2012 is much better.

- Master League is now joined by Become A Legend and World Player modes. You've also got the Copa Libertadores, which I'm sure wasn't present in PES 2011 3D. More modes = good stuff. Crucially, player development is included as well, which was stupidly left out of PES 2011 3D.

- Online is solid enough. Stutters ocassionally, but generally played at the same speed as it would in single player. Single games only, and only measured in wins/draws/losses, but you can play anyone with a similar playing record. Decisions are limited to sixty seconds across the board, meaning you don't have to wait ages for your opponent to make substitutions, change their tactics etc.

-It seems that no new commentary has been recorded. I heard nothing in any of my matches that I hasn't already heard a million times in the 2011 version. Bad news.

~

All in all, I'd say this is the game PES 2011 3D should have been...though fundamentally it isn't all the different from the versions that were appearing on the PSP over five years ago. If it ain't broke...

Thanks Roo.

Does it run smoother? 2011 is 30fps with or without 3D. 2012 looks considerable smoother than 2011 when watching videos online. I liked the overall gameplay but the lack of modes was a joke. Just got a refund.
