After talking about Nights on another, I am now going to buy a Saturn, come payday (still not recovered from Download making me skint).

Pesonally I want the arcade ports mainly:
Daytona
Sega Rally
House of the Dead

and if you have any recommendations it would be appreciated :D

Never used Amazon for buying retro games, as most sellers just put a stock photo of the game on the listing. For me its ebay all the way, majority take a photograph of the product and are honest about any damage etc in fear of the negative feedback gods.

Speaking of, my modded Saturn arrived today, loads of CD games, a RF lead (wha?)
Turned it on and all that happens is the disc drive spins faster than normal and no games load (lazer goes all the way to the top and does nothing)

Still was offered a refund

I tried to return Soul Calibur V to HMV today - the buggers wouldn't take it back  Had the receipt and everything, but they were being really awkward and only offered me a trade-in on it. This really p!ssed me off as they are normally great for returns. I asked for the manager but they wouldn't budge. Probably the only reason I still shop there is because of the flexible returns policy.

They can jog on now

Did you buy it new? I can see where they're coming from if you did. I mean they can't sell it again as "new" if you've played it, well they could but the next buyer wouldn't appreciate it.

It was new and I agree with what you say - its technically not new now, but they have always been flexible with returns in the past, hence why I still shop there.

I'll bear it in mind from now on, and will take less risks with my HMV purchases. I wouldn't have bought the game if I knew I couldn't return it if I didn't like it. Now that HMV has seemingly changed their returns policy I will buy less games from them.

So I see your point, but its a different topic altogether. The problem for me was their change of policy, seemingly overnight, which is contrary to what it says on the receipt, ie games can be returned for an exchange in 21 days in perfect condition (which it was). I'm going to trade it elsewhere anyway. Its not the end of the world.

^That's been my recent goal, and I'd just 'quit' THEN decided to go on a massive buying splurge this afty, to the tune of the best part of a hundred quid(!!!!!)

So, got:

PlayStation Move starter pack - £39.99
£25's worth of PSN points - £25 (huhuh)
Some sh!te 'Orb' 360 headset that's too small for my head (cos my Turtle Beach is a bast to set up for just chat) - £8
Family Guy (Xbox1) and Ratchet: Gladiator (PS2) - £1.99 for both. Family Guy is BC on 360 and not bad!!!!
3rd party Wii charge pak - £3

NEED....to *stop*...buying...

It could be that you were just returning things too often fo their liking. I've heard of shops giving you a limited amount of returns with in a certain time period, to stop people abusing returns.

Not saying you were, but if you've been used to returning things lately maybe you've used up your returns for the moment. If they didn't put some sort of limit on it people could just keep on playing and returning their brand new games for free.
